Ridwell: https://www.ridwell.com/

Why I Love It: Reducing waste is important to me. I love living in a city that recycles and composts. However, some things are not recyclable from home. That’s where Ridwell comes in. They come to your house every-other week to pick up items you place in your Ridwell bin that can be more difficult to recycle (for example, plastic film, light bulbs, and batteries). They also have rotating featured categories and partner with all kinds of organizations to ensure what gets picked up is reused or up-cycled. They are in multiple cities (Seattle, Portland, Denver, Los Angeles, Bay Area, Austin, Atlanta, and Minneapolis- St. Paul) and have a few different price plans (starting at $14 a month). They are an incredible and affordable service that helps us greatly reduce our waste (especially plastic) footprint.

National Geographic: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/

Why I Love It: The stories are incredible, and the photos are outstanding. I’m always learning something new and mind expanding. The subscription is super reasonably priced and you can also choose a digital subscription. Your support also helps NatGeo continue their great work understanding and protecting our planet (there’s no planet B).

Lego: https://www.lego.com/en-us

Why I Love It: During Covid, I did quite a few puzzles. One day I was looking at my child’s Simpson’s House Lego set that was a Christmas present. They had a friend over (pre-Covid) who had opened all of the packs and piled them on the floor which made it difficult to follow the instructions to do the build. I decided that I could sort through the pile and complete the build since I had plenty of time at home. Once I started building I was hooked. Now I am an Adult Fan of Lego. I enjoy watching Lego Masters while building and learning more about brick styles and combinations. The attention to detail and the architectural elements are amazing, and the mini figures are awesome. It’s also extremely relaxing for me to do the builds and I enjoy displaying them when they are completed (30 so far and counting!).

Seattle Candle Company: https://seattlecandlecompany.com/

Why I Love It: The fragrances are fantastic and very Pacific Northwest! They are hand poured, soy wax candles and they use quality ingredients that don’t give me a headache. They have seasonal scents too. They come in various sizes and make great gifts (including hostess gifts). I always have a few on hand for gifting.

Dog and Cat Pet Hair Clipper

Why I Love It: We have a long haired cat that gets a few hair mats now and again and this gets rid of them with ease. This hair clipper is super light weight, easy to handle, and comes with two guards. It’s super quiet so it doesn’t spook my cat. It’s also USB chargeable which is extremely convenient. The clippers sell for under $20 on Amazon which makes them a great product for the price. Oh, and they are waterproof as well.

Ameritex Waterproof Pet Blanket for Furniture Bed Couch Sofa Reversible

Why I Love It: If you love having your animals sleep with you but want to protect your bed linens, or if you want to let your animals on the sofa but want to protect the fabric, then this blanket is for you. It is light weight and soft to the touch but is waterproof and will provide reliable protection from fur, dirt, hairballs, and accidents. Liquid beads up on the fabric and can be easily wiped away. I wish I would have bought this sooner.

Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Cream

Why I Love It: I have tried many hand creams over the years and this is hands down (get it?) my favorite. This is appropriately named as when I use it my hands immediately feel the relief from dry, flaky skin becoming soft and smooth instead almost instantly after application. Also, the original scent is delightful and not overpowering (and my favorite). During the holiday season Aveda has gift packs with sample sized hand creams with additional, lovely scents which makes a great gift (for yourself and others).
